NANS Southwest Announces Reinstatement of Suspended FUOYE Students Following Dialogue

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has announced the reinstatement of students previously suspended by the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) after a series of engagements with the institution's management.

The student body said the intervention was undertaken following directives from the national leadership of NANS and concerns raised by stakeholders regarding the welfare and academic future of the affected students.

According to NANS Southwest, discussions with university authorities resulted in the reinstatement of the suspended students and their return to academic activities.

The association also disclosed that the university management provided updates regarding disciplinary measures taken in connection with the circulation of private content involving former Students' Union President, Comrade James Adio.

While the suspended students have now been reinstated, NANS noted that issues relating to Adio's case remain under institutional review and are expected to be considered by the University's Senate.

The organization described the outcome as an example of how dialogue, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement can help resolve disputes within higher institutions while preserving academic stability.
