NANS Presidential Aide Urges Support for Community Security Architecture

The National Security Adviser to the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Alimi Yusuf, has advocated stronger support for community-based security structures as part of strategies to address insecurity in Nigeria.

In a statement, the NANS official cited the reported release of kidnapped victims in Igboho, Oyo State, as an example of how local security initiatives can contribute to public safety.

Alimi commended Oloye Sunday Igboho for his role in local security efforts and appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider supporting the Iru Ekun Local Security Outfit.

According to him, empowering community-driven security initiatives within legal and regulatory frameworks could improve collaboration with formal security agencies and enhance overall security outcomes.

He emphasized the importance of collective action among stakeholders in addressing insecurity and safeguarding communities across the country.
